La Salle Bayadeya
Education and support for children in rural communities in Egypt
La Salle Bayadeya is a non formal educational center located in the rural village of Bayadeya, about 350 km south of Cairo.
Most families in the area rely on farming or small trades, and many children face difficulties at school due to overcrowded classrooms and limited individual support.
The project focuses on 325 children aged 8 to 14, identified as the most vulnerable both academically and socially.
At La Salle Bayadeya, children receive after-school tutoring in reading, writing, and math, and participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, crafts, and cultural workshops. Summer camps and educational trips help them socialize, explore their surroundings, and discover local heritage.
The project also involves families through home visits and awareness activities, emphasizing the importance of education and celebrating cultural and religious events together.
La Salle Bayadeya offers a safe and caring environment that not only supports academic success but also fosters social cohesion and personal growth in a community where access to quality education remains a daily challenge.
