CEALS
An educational center that promotes education, well-being and equal opportunities for children and young people.
In Beira, Mozambique, CEALS (La Salle Educational Center) provides educational support every afternoon to hundreds of children who attend public school in the morning.
Many of these children come from vulnerable neighborhoods of Beira, where overcrowded classrooms and limited resources make it difficult for them to learn effectively. Beyond helping prevent school dropout, the center offers nutritious meals, a library, recreational activities, sports programs, and professional training courses for youth, with a special focus on female empowerment.
Regular physical activity and play are essential for children’s healthy physical, emotional, and social development. They foster growth, confidence, and social skills, and are vital for ensuring every child’s right to a well-rounded and healthy childhood.
Through these programs, CEALS provides a safe, supportive, and enriching environment that addresses both educational gaps and broader social needs, promoting education, empowerment, and wellbeing, and making children’s rights tangible in their everyday lives.
