De La Salle Blackfeet School (DLSBS) is a Lasallian school located on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana, one of the most ecologically significant and culturally sacred areas of North America, in the traditional homelands of the Blackfeet Nation.
Many adolescents in the area face multiple forms of poverty, including discrimination, social isolation, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Established as a compassionate response to the needs of the Blackfeet community, DLSBS prioritizes collaboration and support in education.
The school’s mission is to promote justice, address the traumas of colonization, and empower students to shape their communities through self-confidence and a strong sense of identity.
Offering a dynamic, culturally responsive education, DLSBS features small, interactive classes enhanced by modern technology, extended school hours, enrichment activities, and personalized support—all provided free of charge to students.
The OKI-NI-SOO-KA-WA (“Come and See”) Blackfeet Immersion Program invites groups to experience Blackfeet culture and engage with students, fostering cultural understanding and personal transformation for all participants.
