La Salle Kirenge

Kindergarden and primary school for vulnerable children in vulnerable situations in Rwanda

La Salle Kirenge School is located in the Kirenge area, Rwanda, a region that carries a significant historical and emotional weight due to its connection with sites affected during the 1994 Genocide. Kirenge, like many surrounding communities, still bears the scars of those tragic events, and many families continue to live with the social and economic consequences.

In response to the needs of the local population, La Salle Kirenge School is committed to providing quality primary education to vulnerable children. Many of these children come from families who have been deeply affected by poverty, trauma, and the long-term effects of the genocide.

The school serves as a safe and nurturing environment where young students can learn, grow, and regain hope.

Education at La Salle Kirenge is not just about academic knowledge. It is also about human development, dignity, and fostering values such as peace, respect, and unity.

By offering children the opportunity to attend primary school, we aim to empower a new generation that can contribute positively to the transformation of Kirenge and the entire region.

Of its six hundred students, three hundred attend the school thanks to full scholarships.
