In 2026, La Salle Foundation marks its 15th anniversary, celebrating fifteen years of commitment to a clear goal: ensuring access to quality education, especially in the most vulnerable contexts.

During these years, La Salle Foundation has raised more than 60 million euros to support vulnerable communities around the world. These resources have funded educational projects, development initiatives, and emergency responses, always guided by the conviction that education should be a right, never a privilege.

The impact of this work is also reflected in the more than 500,000 people who have participated in educational initiatives supported by the Foundation, primarily children, but also young people and adults. In addition, the organization has consistently supported more than 30 projects every year, contributing to the creation of more just and inclusive societies through education.

La Salle Foundation Timeline

The organization was founded in 2011 under the name Fondazione De La Salle Solidarietà Internazionale Onlus, with the mission of managing projects and coordinating fundraising activities at the international level. The initiative was launched by the then Secretariat of Solidarity and Development and co-founded by Brothers Pedro Arrambide and Amilcare Boccuccia, who also became its first Director.

However, the history of Lasallian international cooperation goes back much further. Within the Lasallian network, initiatives dedicated to this field had already existed since 1946, when the International Missionary Secretariat (SMI) was established. In 1966, it became the Service de la Coopération Lasallienne Internationale (SECOLI). Later, in 2007, its activities were assumed by the Secretariat of Solidarity and Development, which, in 2011, promoted the creation of the Foundation to establish a structure capable of managing and coordinating Lasallian mission projects worldwide.

Over the past 15 years, La Salle Foundation has consolidated its role as a reference point for international Lasallian solidarity. In 2021, it contributed to the creation of the SIL Network, a platform designed to coordinate Lasallian solidarity work at both global and local levels, strengthening collaboration among organizations across different countries. One year later, it officially adopted the name La Salle Foundation, along with the visual identity that represents it today.

Among the most significant milestones of this journey was the appointment of Angela Matulli in 2023 as the first woman to serve as Executive Director of the organization. More recently, in 2026, the Foundation promoted the first global gathering of Lasallian non-profit organizations, bringing together representatives from 30 countries to strengthen partnerships, exchange experiences, and create new opportunities for collaboration.

As it celebrates its 15th anniversary, the Foundation looks to the future with the determination to continue strengthening cooperation across the international Lasallian network and expanding its educational impact worldwide.

“For everyone, everywhere, education.”
