The number of #1LaSalle flagship projects funded now totals 10.
Thanks to the funds raised through the 1 La Salle campaign, launched on International Women’s Day this past March 8th, we’ve been able to support five tangible projects. These initiatives aim to remove the obstacles that still prevent women and girls from continuing their education and pursuing their dreams.
All girls at school
Scholarships for girls and young women in Tumba, Democratic Republic of Congo
In a region where one in two girls doesn’t attend school and only one in ten manages to complete their studies, our school in Tumba, Democratic Republic of Congo, is offering 80 scholarships for girls and vocational training programs for 30 young women. This initiative provides a tangible future for the most vulnerable girls and women.

Fratelli Project Maicao
Promoting school access for migrant and indigenous girls and women in Colombia
In Maicao, Colombia, the Fratelli Project, in collaboration with the Marist Brothers, upholds the right to education for Venezuelan migrants and marginalized indigenous groups. It achieves this by facilitating access to public schools, combating school dropout rates with after-school activities, and offering adult literacy courses.
Thanks to the donations received, we’ll be able to ensure that women and girls, who are often at a greater disadvantage when returning to school, have access to listening programs, support, and educational guidance.

Program for mothers
Empowering mothers: parenting support in Scampia, Naples.
In Scampia, one of Naples’ most vulnerable neighborhoods, our non-formal education center, CasArcobaleno, offers support to disadvantaged children and teenagers, helping them continue their schooling. The center also aims to be a key point of reference and a meeting place for their families, with particular attention to involving mothers and providing parenting support.

The wheels of change
A new school bus for La Salle Keesara School in India
In the Keesara area of Southern India, the lack of reliable transportation is a significant barrier to school attendance, especially for girls who often face long, solitary journeys each day.
That’s why, thanks to the generous donations we’ve received, we’ll be purchasing a new bus for our La Salle school. Our goal is to enhance school transportation services, ensuring all students, particularly girls, have a safer and more secure trip to school.

Lasallian Women of Hope
Combating period poverty: Free to learn everyday of the month
The lack of access to hygiene products forces many girls to miss school during their menstrual cycle. Through the Lasallian Women of Hope program, we’re promoting access to hygiene materials and personal hygiene courses in vulnerable communities. This initiative helps eliminate the barriers that prevent girls and young women from accessing education.
